In Irish mythology, the Lughnasadh festival was founded by the god Lugh as a funeral feast and athletic competition. The ancient Celts would celebrate the festival by performing physical feats under the light of the full moon.
For Lughnasadh we will cycle from one side of Ireland to the other. From the Atlantic Ocean to the Irish Sea, overnight, arriving at a big summer festival. My mammy calls it 'Total Lunacy' and so, this ride is called Total Lughnasadh.
Setting off from Galway at 7pm on Saturday August 5th, arriving for breakfast (around 8am) in Bray on Sunday 6th of August.
